Jul 2016 – Oct 2025

Positions:

  • Manager, Data Engineering (Jan 2018– Oct 2025)
  • Database Developer (Jul 2016 – Jan 2018)

At DoubleLine Funds, I led data engineering for a $150 billion asset management platform, driving modernization and performance across enterprise data systems. I guided the evolution from traditional ETL and on-prem architectures to a modern Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, integrating SQL Server, Oracle, and external APIs through a Medallion lakehouse design. I implemented a Data Vault–based warehouse supporting trading, pricing, and accounting data, and completed a proof of concept using database mirroring and Fabric materialized views to improve load efficiency and data quality—validated through Python and Great Expectations testing. My work also encompassed developing real-time trade processing via MQ, on-demand Bloomberg and Office 365 API integrations, and automation of deployment and monitoring processes to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability across critical workflows.

Key Achievements:

  • Leveraged AI-assisted development using Cursor for the last year to enhance productivity in SQL, .NET, and Python code development
  • Completed proof of concept for database mirroring and Fabric materialized views, testing alternative data-loading strategies. Used Python and Great Expectations to measure performance and data quality against existing pipelines, confirming significant improvement in load efficiency and reliability.
  • Deployed core accounting data to Microsoft Fabric, building pipelines from the Data Vault to bronze staging, transforming with Python notebooks to gold, and creating semantic models for Power BI analytics.
  • Developed Graph API integration with Office 365 to retrieve emailed reports; implemented a C# Exchange Web Services solution for complex Refinitiv file processing with mailbox monitoring and AI-assisted development using Cursor.
  • Migrated trade reporting from ODBC to MQ for real-time trade processing; built a C# orchestration solution integrating APIs, real-time security-master requests, and refactored stored procedures across teams.
  • Migrated security-master acquisition from scheduled Bloomberg reports to on-demand Bloomberg HAPI API, improving data completeness and eliminating SLA risks through dynamic response handling and robust error reporting.
  • Architected and implemented a Data Vault–based warehouse with 100+ tables supporting trading, pricing, and reconciliation.
  • Directed overnight ETL workflows and maintained 200+ SSIS packages and agent jobs for accounting and risk data.
  • Designed and deployed a Microsoft Fabric lakehouse integrating SQL Server, Oracle, and external APIs within a Medallion architecture.
  • Drove SQL and SSIS optimization, improving query performance, package execution time, and workflow efficiency.
  • Contributed to internal DevOps automation for SQL and SSIS deployment (Bitbucket integration) and a monitoring framework for ETL execution metrics
  • Delivered full-stack solutions in SQL Server and C#/.NET to automate operational processes
